Local United Way Volunteers Assist Family Recovering From Sandy

Liberty Mutual employees take part in Operation Rebuild and Recovery.

Recently, the Deer Park-based United Way of Long Island welcomed employee volunteers from Liberty Mutual Insurance’s Valley Stream and Uniondale offices to take part in Operation Rebuild & Recovery.

Staff members spent their time helping repair and restore the home of a Long Beach resident that was badly damaged by Superstorm Sandy. The Liberty Mutual employees who volunteered at the Long Beach home joined their colleagues throughout the world who participated in the company's annual Serve with Liberty campaign.

Launched in 2012 to celebrate Liberty Mutual's 100th anniversary, the first Serve with Liberty involved more than 26,000 company employees who participated in 1,400 community projects worldwide to the benefit of more than 760 charities in 19 countries.
