Deer Park-North Babylon Agenda: Hope For The Warriors Fundraiser, Annual Barn Dance

Daylight Saving Time may have come to an end, but there's still plenty of daylight on the weekend to have some fun. Here's a few events happening in the area this weekend: 

DEER PARK

Hope For The Warriors Fundraiser

The Constantino Brumidi Lodge in Deer Park (2075 Deer Park Avenue) will host a Hope For The Warriors Fundraiser on Sunday at 6 p.m. The mission of Hope For The Warriors is to enhance the quality of life for post-9/11 service members, their families, and families of the fallen who have sustained physical and psychological  wounds in the line of duty. Tickets $35; checks payable to Brumidi Lodge; credit cards and cash accepted. Buffet dinner, wine/beer & soda included; coffee and dessert. For tickets, please contact: Lucille Di Nardo 631-667-1912 or Fran Barone 631-667-1543

BABYLON

First Annual Tuna Club Fishing Trip

The Babylon Tuna Club will host their first annual fishing trip out of Captree State Park on Sunday at 7 a.m. The group will be fishing striped bass and blues from the Captree Fish Finder II. Free to club members or $49 per person for non-members.

Evening with Psychic Jeffrey Wands

The West Babylon Fire Department Companies 4 and 8 will present psychic Jeffery Wands at the Fire Department on Arnold Avenue starting at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. The fundraiser event will benefit the fire department and Wands will be signing books afterwards.

LINDENHURST

Veterans Day Dinner Dance

Hosted by the Wade Burns VFW in Lindenhurst, $35 per person includes chicken or beef dinner, open bar and music by a local deejay on Saturday starting at 7 p.m. Must be 18 to attend.

St. John’s Lutheran Church Annual Barn Dance

Annual barn dance will be held at the Lindenhurst Fireman’s Park Pavilion on Saturday starting at 7 p.m. The night’s activities include line dancing and square dancing. $25 per person includes heroes, salad, snacks and beverages.

Varsity Cross Country Breakfast Fundraiser

The Lindenhurst High School varsity cross country team will hold a breakfast fundraiser at the Lindenhurst Applebee’s on Sunday morning starting at 8 a.m. $10 per person helps the team and brings you some delicious pancakes.

Veterans Day Dinner Dance

American Legion Post 1738 hosts a Veterans Day dinner dance on Sat. Nov. 9 starting at 7 p.m.  The $35 ticket includes dinner, wine, beer, soda, liquor and dessert as well as the music entertainment.
