The deal between the union and the administration is just that. The legislators do not have jurisdiction over negotiations, that is the executive function. The legislator joined the original lawsuit because this sale broke numerous county laws and bypassed others. I would be happy to clarify all the sordid details, lies, and manipulations involved with this deal, starting with the "12 million dollar loss per year" lie. The Brookhaven ZBA saw that the nursing home made a profit when it was full and therefore described any loss by the legal term "self created.". The NYS Health Department voted 10-0 against the sale, based on the facts. If the home must be sold, follow the laws of the state and county. This is all the PEOPLES money!!
