Update: Police ID Victims In Friday's Deer Park Crash

Two dead, two injured in crash at Commack Road and Suburban Avenue.

Updated 8:30 a.m. Saturday:  

Police have identified the victims killed and critically injured in Friday’s two-car crash on Commack Road in Deer Park.  

Robert Fattibene, 53, of Smithtown and Herver Leonel Garcia Munoz, 32, of Brentwood were pronounced dead at the scene by the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s office.  

Yesenia Marilu Martinez Vasquez, 24, and three-year old Justin Martinez, both passengers in the vehicle driven by Garcia Munoz, are at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip in critical condition, police said. Justin Martinez is the son of Garcia Munoz.  

According to police, Fattibene was driving a 2001 Dodge Durango north on Commack Road when he crossed into the southbound lane and collided with the 1999 Nissan Altima driven by Garcia Munoz.  

Police are continuing their investigation and asking anyone with information about the crash to call First Squad detectives at 631-854-8152.

Two people were killed and two others were seriously injured in a crash in Deer Park Friday evening, according to Suffolk Police. 

The two-car crash occurred at the corner of Commack Road and Suburban Avenue at 6:38 p.m, police said. 

Both of the male drivers involved in the crash died, police said. A female passenger and her 3-year-old son are currently in critical condition at the hospital.  

Police have not yet released the names of the victims.
