Burglars Hit Two More Deer Park Homes

There have been eight home burglaries in Deer Park since the start of October.

Police are investigating two burglaries at Deer Park homes that occurred last week.

In the first incident, on Nov. 11, someone broke into a home on W. 22nd Street through an unlocked door and stole jewelry, credit cards and checks, police said.

The second burglary occurred on Nov. 16 on Eastwood Avenue. In that case, a burglar entered the home by breaking a basement window, police said. Money and jewelry were stolen from the home.

There have now been three residential burglaries in Deer Park this month. A burglary was reported on Somerset Place on Nov. 7. There were five home break-ins in Deer Park in October. Despite the recent burglaries in the area, police have said crime is down in the area this year.
