A New York City firefighter from Deer Park earned the title of New York City King of Arms at the 36th annual NYC Big Apple Grapple International Arm Wrestling championships on Saturday.

Mike Ayello, a 35 year old FDNY member at Ladder 135 in Glendale, Queens, added the title to two others he already holds: Mr. September, on the 2013 New York City Firefighters Calendar and Long Island’s Strongest Man, according to DNAinfo.com.

Ayello told the website he’s been arm wrestling now for five years about beating fellow bouncers at bars around the city. The 6-foot-5, 265-pound man then continued in amateur contests, going undefeated.

“It’s great. It’s like the ultimate one-on-one, I’m bigger, I’m stronger than you,” Ayello told DNAinfo.com. “It’s an awesome sport.”

The firefighter even tried to take on his FDNY brothers once, but then feared for their safety.

“I brought a table to the firehouse, but I said before everyone starts snapping their arms, let me get this thing out of here,” he said.
