Texas Roadhouse Opening Monday

Steakhouse's first location in Suffolk County to open in Deer Park June 17.

The wait is over: Texas Roadhouse will open next Monday in Deer Park.

Construction began on the steakhouse on Commack Road last May and was originally slated to open in October. However, the opening was first postponed when contaminated soil was discovered at the site.

Hurricane Sandy also stalled construction for weeks last fall. But there will be no more delays as the steakhouse's first location in Suffolk County–and second on Long Island–will be open for business at 4 p.m. June 17, according to the restaurant's managing partner Tony Martinez.

It will technically be a "soft opening," Martinez said, with little fanfare.

"We just open the doors and start serving some legendary food and give out some legendary service," he said.

The Deer Park location is the first Texas Roadhouse of more than 400 worldwide to be Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified, an internationally recognized green building program.
